Can you be-leaf it’s already November?
Hot on the heels of Halloween is our favorite month: November.
We know the transition to the shorter, darker days of fall can be a challenge and it’s easy to write off November as a holding month until Christmas but there’s plenty to enjoy and be excited about.
Here are 4 reasons November isn’t just an okay month, but actually the best month of the entire year.
1. November is a relaxing month
Aside from Thanksgiving for our American friends, there‘s really no pressure to do anything this month.
Halloween was all about costumes and parties (which can be both fun and stressful) and December is all about holidays and NYE (which can also be stressful). Use this month as a chance to recharge.
It‘s also the perfect month to get into a regular routine.
With the chilly weather and calming vibes, November is a great time to take up meditation or go for a yoga class to get your body moving.
It’s an excellent month to recharge, set new intentions and learn something new.
At Innergy Corporate Yoga, we find November one of the best times to introduce a yoga class or corporate wellness program before the busy holiday season.
From hosting team building holiday parties to meditation, fitness and yoga classes, we love helping you fit in some time to prioritize wellness in November.
2. “Fall Back”
Speaking of recharging – adjust your clocks! On Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 2:00AM, we “fall back” one hour.
An hour may not seem like that big of deal but studies show that there are benefits of “falling back” and the positive side effects you may undergo.
For example, the increased alertness and rest from daylight savings time change leads to an increase in productivity at the work place.
Whether you enjoy an extra hour of sleep or use the extra time to do something you love, it’s an excellent opportunity to maximize the extra gift of time.
3. Movember
Mustaches decorate the upper lips of men everywhere come November, all in good fun and for a great cause.
Movember is an annual event involving the growing of moustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues, such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and men’s suicide.
There are plenty of opportunities to volunteer, donate, and get involved in your local community.
You can be wildly creative, but one thing is certain: Movember is an incredible way to break the silence and stigma surrounding men’s health on a global scale.
4. The Food
Not only is November a big month for celebrating food but we’ve definitely missed the comforting recipes to accompany the cozy fall nights.
Think savory roasts, simmering soups, and hearty stews.
November is root vegetable season, and it’s time to dig up and store root vegetables like celeriac, parsnips, turnips, potatoes, and sweet potatoes.
Other vegetables and fruits in season in November include apples, arugula, broccoli, carrots, cauliflower, cranberries, fennel, horseradish, kale, mushrooms, pomegranates, rosemary, sage, thyme, and winter squashes.
We’ve included a hearty soup recipe in our newsletter, inspired by many of these in-season ingredients! If you haven’t subscribed to our newsletter already, you can do so here.
Happy November!
