Falling sometime in the last week of April (this year April 24th) is Administrative Professionals Appreciation Day. This day is a chance for us to say thank you for all the work administrative professionals do and for all the times they go above and beyond their regular duties.
Are you part of an organization that has an administrative professional or do you have one yourself? Take some time out of your day to show them just how much you value both them and the work that they do.
Looking for ways to show your gratitude. . .
A little bit of relaxation. Administrative professionals work hard, there is no doubt about that. Why not surprise them with a little R&R. That could be anything from a gift card to a spa or a gift card to their favourite restaurant.
Buy them flowers. Buy your administrative professional flowers and add a thoughtful card expressing your gratitude for their role in the workplace. Who doesn’t love a big fresh bouquet of flowers to spruce up their work station?
A kind word. Sometimes we forget the power of words and a few kind words of sentiment and appreciation go a long way. If you aren’t typically as vocal about your appreciation towards their work this gesture will not go by unnoticed.
Organize a team lunch or potluck in their honour. Why not gather up the team and take your administrative professional out for a nice lunch. Another great option would be to host a potluck in their honour. Let the team gather around some good food and express their appreciation towards your administrative assistant.
Let them leave early. Administrative professionals are usually one of the first ones in the office and one of the last to leave. How about letting them leave a little early and skip all the end of day chaos and let them beat the traffic.
