1. Get Some Sunlight – Whenever possible, get outside for at least 15 minutes and aim to get sunlight directly on your face. Sunlight will boost your production of the feel good hormone serotonin and relieve SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), which affects people every year when there is limited sunlight.
2. Go for a Walk – Just a few minutes a day of walking briskly will decrease anxiety and improve mood and sleep quality. Aim for 30 minutes a day.
3. Stick with a Routine – As much as possible, stick with your regular routine of exercise, eating properly, going to bed at the same time each night and more. The regularity will keep your grounded and energized.
4. Ask for Help – You can’t always do it all and you shouldn’t have to. Hire a cleaner, pay to have your gifts wrapped, ask guests to bring an appetizer. It is perfectly okay – and honorable – to ask for help.
5. Do Less, Enjoy More – Say no to a few things and spend more time on you. Sleep in, binge on some Netflix, simplify your meals and take care of yourself. You’ll feel liberated!
