Welcome 2011. Maybe you have set some resolutions for yourself in this new year – perhaps added some things to your to-do-list, given yourself one more task to accomplish, or created yet another goal to reach.

It is a powerful practice to set intention, but the trouble is we often create resolutions based on the premise that something is missing, that we somehow aren’t enough.

Of course, if there is a quality of being you want to bring into your life, the new year is the perfect opportunity to definitively introduce it, but give yourself the time to get clear as to whether your resolutions really serve you.

Perhaps rather than adding to your roster, nurture yourself by instead choosing to let go of something that is no longer of benefit. If you know that you want to use the new year as a starting point for cultivating something in your life, click here for a helpful article on how to re-frame that intention with a yogic mind and ensure you approach it with gentleness, non-judgment, and focus.
