We find that a simple yet conscious washing of hands with cold water to be extremely effective in brining that awareness back to your body. Again, really be sure to focus on the sensation of the cold water on your skin.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step Two<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Grab yourself a glass of water before returning to your desk. You would be surprised by how often dehydration affects your cognitive abilities. It doesn\u2019t have to be cold like the water you had used for sensory stimulation; this glass of water is purely used to hydrate you.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step Three<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve returned to your workspace, make sure you are free of distractions. Distractions such as cell phones or even having multiple tabs on your browser can cause your mind to wander in multiple directions. You may not realize how much of a distraction those little things are but they add up quickly.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Step Four<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last but not least, bring your focus back to your breathing. There\u2019s no need to get carried away with a 10 minute pranayama exercise but make sure you are breathing nice and deeply.
